Situated on the borders of the Correze and
Lot departments in this lovely idyllic rural part of France,
we are only 5 km away from the beautiful Dordogne river near
the unspoilt medieval town of Beaulieu.
Living at an altitude of 500m, we have fantastic
views to the south and west over the Dordogne valley, with
the high cause (limestone plateau) stretching away behind
into the distance. Consequently an evening meal taken on the
terrace or in the garden, will often have the added spectacle
of a marvellously beautiful sunset.
Being in a very small hamlet of three well
spaced houses, and surrounded by a charming patchwork of flowery
meadows and woodland, we are the ideal holiday destination
for people who value the clean air, tranquillity, and superb
countryside of this corner of France. |
La Vigerie is an ideal base for walking, cycling, and canoeing,
while there are also many beautiful villages in the vicinity
including Collanges-la-Rouge, Argentat, and Rocamadour.
It is also a wonderful destination for a relaxing break,
but is particularly suitable for people who come to this part
of France to see its spectacular variety of butterflies,
birds and plants. Mark has extensive knowledge of this area
and where to find these gems. For more details see the nature
page.
We offer Bed & Breakfast for all lengths of break from
one night to 2 weeks, there are many good inexpensive restaurants
nearby within a short drive, but there is also the option
of sampling Sues excellent cooking with an evening meal
on the terrace. |
